This is a visual studio Add-in, simple and clean, that can be used to manage build numbers on your projects. To install this add-in, simply download the file, copy it to your Visual Studio Add-in folder. Then open visual studio (standard or higher) and go to the add-in manager to add this component.
Once added, the component attaches itself to your IDE's build process and every time you build your solution a file with the same name as your project and the extension ".ver" is created in the bin folder. This file contains incremental build information that you can read later and perhaps add to an "About" box or manipulate in any way you want.
Because the ".ver" file is just simple text you can erase it to reset the build number or edit it to set a starting build number for your project.
As mentioned above, this is a simple helper add-in for basic build numbering. For specific needs you would want to extend this component.
